November 4, 2013 - As I think I mentioned in the comments, Margot's backstory was initially completely different, and has now been changed to the situation above. Everyone's reasons for choosing an abortion is completely her own, and no reason is necessarily more legitimate than any other. The other backstory would have touched on another broader theme aversely affecting women (not to say "traditionalism" isn't necessarily a concern), that I didn't feel was particularly well explored when I initially wrote some of these scripts. As this comic indicates, the main focus of this plotline is Dr. Gregory's responsibilities performing an abortion. Unlike gestational age and medical history of the mother, the circumstances of the pregnancy are not something that particularly concern Dr. Gregory specifically. That task is generally delegated to a therapist and despite legal mandates in some parts of the country (including whereever this comic is set), the necessity of therapy in such situations is very open to debate.
